George H. JOhnson

Hunt Highway & BELLA VISTA ROAD

Paving of 15 1/2 miles

Hunt Highway was a dangerous dirt road between the Johnson Ranch area and Florence.  School buses along with cars had to navigate this road daily among big trucks and deal with weather issues.  It was either very dusty and dry or when it rained it caused treacherous slippery conditions.

George saw this and immediately contacted the county and offered to pay for the paving of 11 1/2 miles of the highway saving the county considerable monies and saving possible vehicular accidents.

He also generously helped the County pave 4 miles of Bella Vista Rd. creating a much nicer environment for residents and commuters.
